The project of inclusive design

Inclusive design is a regional project of British Council in which participate 5 countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedoniaand the United Kingdom.
The project is committed to development of skills of persons with disabilities in the domain of design and artistic crafts

Partnersof the British Council in this project are:Association of Youth With Disabilities of Montenegro (AYDM),UniversityofMontenegro, Faculty of Fine Arts of Cetinje andDeltaCity.

In this project will work the top Montenegrin artists and university professors:Nataša Đurović, Ana Matić, Igor Rakčević, Lazar Pejović and Antun Heber.

Aim of the projectis development of skills and creativity, that is, economical empowerment of persons with disabilities, the development of public awareness about the need of including these persons in economic, social, educational and cultural trends and drawing the attention of institutions about necessary measures for their easier integration.

Activities includemapping, campaign, creative workshops and a course for graphic operators.

Mapping: November-December 2011.
Collecting the data and creating the database of persons with disabilities and relevant institutions inMontenegro, informing the public, press conference, public discussions etc. Coordinator: Nataša Đurović, Vice Rector of University of Montenegro in cooperation with AYWDM

Campaign: December– month of inclusion, Delta City Podgorica.
Basic skills in working with different materials– educative workshops

Number of participants per workshop: 8

Aim of these workshops is to provide basic knowledge and skills with mentioned materials.
The intention is to train workshops participants to create artworks and use that knowledge in the production of different items which can be commercial valorized. The work will be focused on exploring different materials, ways and possibilities of processing and production art objects of them. The way of working at the workshops will be adjusted to each participant individually, his artistic affections and physical abilities, so that a successful participation will be possible for persons with different forms of physical limitations. Techniques and approach will be adjusted to space where the workshops will take place (Delta City), while avoiding harmful and corrosive materials and tools, which will later enable the participants to apply directly their acquired knowledge in their living space.
November 28– December 2nd – Creative workshop for work with paper: making fancy goods and decorations, paper processing.
December 5–9 – Creative workshop for woodworking: additional processing of semi-finished products and work on them.

December 10th Christmas Bazaar, Delta City– Participation in bazaar within the stand of British Council and British Embassy, the sale of artifacts from the workshop, the campaign.
December 12–16 – Creative workshop for work with ceramics: work with ceramic intermediates and their creative process, application of the prints and hand painting of ceramic products.
December 19–23 – Creative workshop for working with textiles and leather: applying different techniques in textile and leather treatment.
The workshops will have full attention of the Medias and appearances of relevant persons. Workshop coordinator: Igor Rakčević, the president of the Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro (ULUCG/AFAM).
