Second generation of school on human rights of persons with disabilities

Center for Antidiscrimination “EQUISTA”, in partnership with Association of Youth with Disabilities of Montenegro is realizing:
SCHOOL ON HUMAN RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
For second generation of participants
School lasts three months. Number of male and female participants who will have opportunity to attend school is twenty. Teaching/classes will be held once a week, in duration of two hours. School is going to be realized within the project “School on human rights of persons with disabilities” which is financed by Lottery Fund.
School on human rights of persons with disabilities provides theoretical and practical knowledge about the concept of human rights, with special emphasis on rights of persons with disabilities. Within the school, participants will be able to express their own attitudes using essays and discussions with competent lecturers.
After finishing School male and female participants receive a certificate, under the condition that they attended at least 80% of the program.
Right to participate have male and female candidates who want to learn more about persons with disability and their rights. Candidates are welcome regardless of any personal characteristic:(gender, nationality, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability etc.).
Topics/themes and lecturers of the first generation of the School were:
1. Introduction to the human rights – Siniša Bjeković – Faculty of Law;
2. Human rights of persons with disabilities – general overview – Goran Macanović – Association of Youth with Disabilities of Montenegro;
3. Human rights of persons with disabilities, situation in Montenegro and positive legislation – Zagorka Pavićević – Institute for Education and Vocational Rehabilitation of Disabled Children and Youth Podgorica;
4. Anti-discrimination – practice and role of the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights at stake of protection of human rights, with special emphasis on rights of persons with disabilities – Blanka Radošević- Marović, Ministry for Human and Minority Rights;
5. Anti – discrimination – Practice and role of Human Rights protector concerning the question of Human Rights protection, with emphasis on rights of persons with disabilities Marijana Laković – Institution of Human Rights and Freedoms Protector;
6 Court protection of Human Rights in Montenegro, with emphasis on rights of persons with disabilities, Daliborka Knežević – Center for Antidiscrimination “EQUISTA”;
7. Court protection of Human Rights, with special emphasis on rights of persons with disabilities in front of European Court of Human Rights – Zoran Pažin – agent of Montenegro at European Court of Human Rights;
8. The right to education, inclusive education – Tamara Milić – Ministry of Education and Sports;
9. The right to employment and social protection – Vesna Simović – The Faculty of Law;
10. Support services and accessibility – Milan Šaranović – Center for Antidiscrimination “EQUISTA”;
11. Health protection of persons with disabilities – Mensud Grbović – Primary Health Care Center Podgorica;
12 Why is it important to respect human rights? – Aleksandar Saša Zeković.
